However, Salman also insisted that his new song should not be publicised excessively as this will cast negative impact on kids.

The star was causing a mini jam, but no one seemed to care when they realised that it was the star! Sallu who is shooting at Kamalistan Studios was perhaps cycling home to Bandra.
Actor-producer Akshay Kumar, who spends quality time with his 10-year-old son Aarav despite his busy schedule, says that he wants to keep him away from films.
“He is too young. I want my son to be away from films. I want him to enjoy childhood. I want him to go and play football. Go on the beach and enjoy life,” Akshay told.
The Bollywood star also revealed that he leads a disciplined life and doesn’t bend his rules regardless of his hectic shooting schedule.
“I don’t enjoy partying. I don’t understand why they play music so loud. I like to sleep early. I go off to sleep by 9 to 9.30. I get up by 4.30 in the morning,” the 44-year-old said.
“Twinkle sleeps by 8.45 in the night and thank god this is the only similarity that I and Twinkle share. Life becomes very calm when your partner sleeps at the same time. We share this one thing in common,” he said.
Akshay’s first release this year is “Housefull 2”, which is releasing April 5.
Veena Malik and Yana Gupta were in the capital for a store opening.
The two tried to outdo each other with their poses.
Yana just could not match drama queen Veena’s antics in front of the camera though.
They may be a couple in real life, but on screen Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are about to clash over item numbers in the film “Agent Vinod”. Who does it better?
Many are asking if Kareena’s mujra song, “Dil mera muft ka”, will be overshadowed by Saif’s “Pyaar ki pungi”. The latter is described as a number that catches your attention in the first 20 seconds because of its comic, cheeky notes and free footsteps.
When asked about the song, Saif told: “There is a sequence in the film where Agent Vinod is being watched by CCTV cameras…and he is behaving in a certain way, so we thought we should do an extension to that and we did the song.”
Composed by Pritam Chakraborty, “Pyaar ki pungi” has been written by lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and choreographed by Jasmin Oza. Mika has sung it.
Since “Agent Vinod”, a sleek spy thriller, is full of actions and thrills, director Sriram Raghavan didn’t give much attention to the songs as it can shift people’s interest and the essence of the movie.
So “Pyaar ki pungi” has been especially created and used as a promotional number. The song plays in the background during one of the scenes in “Agent Vinod” with a punchline saying, “Catch the other side of (Majnu) Vinod.”
If you are wondering who taught such funny steps to Saif, it’s none other than Jasmin Oza, who worked with Saif on an ad for Amul innerwear. He wanted to make the dance moves the actor’s signature steps.
“It’s a song full of naughty steps, I call it Indian contemporary tapori steps. This song is full of groovy steps, full dhamaal song with a high energy. These are the fresh and unique steps which are never done by Saif. Overall steps and the choreography were taught to Saif, but at the same time he added his own steps, ” Ojha told.
“My job was to make him comfortable and to get him into that different kind of funny dancing style. When any actor does such steps, people start thinking about stars like Govinda. To make it exclusive and Saif’s own style, we put his steps while making the song, ” he added.
“Pungi” is a word derived from the snakecharmer’s instrument – known as ‘been’ in Hindi and ‘pungi’ in Marathi.
Usually item numbers are associated with actresses and their ‘jhatkas’ and ‘matkas’. In fact there is a mujra number picturised on Kareena Kapoor and it was the first one to hit the screens. But “Pungi” has become more popular.
Lyricist Bhattacharya says the definition of item numbers is changing and added: “It’s difficult to explain the phrase. Usually any song that stands out in a movie or a song where a female protagonist performs in a different manner is called an item number. I feel a song that attracts viewers’ attention towards a movie and rises on the popularity chart is called an item number.”
Bhattacharya is the man behind the unconventional lyrics of “Emotional atyachar” in “Dev D”.
” ‘Emotional atyachar’ was a big hit and was an item number for the movie. It had such power that they ran a campaign over this song which really helped in the opening of the film.
“So, the song that catches the whole focus of the movie is an item number. There is not any compulsory rule that an item number should be performed only by a female protagonist.”
The “pungi” word has caught on with youth.
The song’s popularity has been bogged down by rumours of plagiarism, but Pritam said: “Melodically and lyrically it’s no way similar to the song (‘Soosan Khanoom’ by Iranian pop band Barobax) in question, and I’m not even bringing up the element of creative coincidence which is largely prevalent in the day and age we exist in.”
Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone hopes that with “Jism 2”, she can at least match the standard that Bipasha Basu set with the prequel.
“I have seen her (Bipasha) and she is gorgeous and amazing in the first movie. I hope I can meet up to her standard and not let her down in ‘Jism 2’, ” the 30-year-old said here in an interview.
“I want to do a good job and I hope everybody likes the movie, ” she added.
Sunny took part in “Bigg Boss 5”, and she got lucky when filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt decided to offer her “Jism 2”.
She is set to start shooting soon.
Bipasha, who made headlines for her steamy scenes in the 2003 film “Jism”, is sure Sunny will do a good job.
“I don’t know her but (Mahesh) Bhatt saab always casts someone who suits the role. So I am sure she will do a good job, ” said Bipasha.
“Jism 2” also stars Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh.
Vidya Balan’s charm and enduring performance seems to have impressed ‘perfectionist’ Aamir Khan so much that he has expressed his desire to work with the national award winning actress.
Vidya’s dream run began with R Balki’s ‘Paa’ (2009) alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Ishqiya’ (2010) opposite Nasseruddin Shah, Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘No One Killed Jessica’ (2011) alongside Rani Mukherjee, Milan Luthria’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ (2011) and the latest, Sujosh Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’ (2012).
With Vidya being compared with Aamir for her perfectionist style, so much so that she is dubbed by some in the industry as a ‘Female Aamir Khan’, the latter is singing the paeans for her.
“I think we must call Vidya by her name only and who am I for her to be getting my name? She is very talented and a wonderful actress. I would love to work with her,” Aamir said.
Though Aamir has not seen Vidya’s recent movie, he is lavish in praise for the 34-year-old actress. “I haven’t seen ‘Kahaani’ yet but I have heard good things about it, people have appreciated and liked the film a lot. Even about Vidyaji I have heard good things. People have appreciated and liked her recent films and I congratulate her,” he said.
Aamir wants some more time for Dhoom 3, sending Katrina’s and film’s schedule for a toss. In the meantime, Kaif is likely to take on the challenge of playing a 62 year-old in Mehrunissa
There might have been much talk about Vidya Balan, undoubtedly the current top actress, having signed the ambitious Nikhil Advani-produced film Mehrunissa, which will star Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, but the producer is currently rushing to London to convince Katrina Kaif for the title role.
And Advani has Aamir Khan to thank for it.
The March-April schedule of the much talked-about Dhoom 3, which will star Aamir Khan as the villain, has been postponed because Khan has told the producers that he is not “mentally prepared” to take on the role yet.
While the recent announcement that the release of Khan’s next film, Talaash, has been postponed, has not inconvenienced the rest of the cast and crew, the postponement of Dhoom 3 has affected Kaif’s schedule for the year.
Currently, she has three Yashraj Films in her kitty — Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, Yash Chopra’s untitled film and Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Dhoom 3. Now with the delay in Dhoom 3, Advani has taken the opportunity to fly to London to the sets of Chopra’s film, to narrate Mehrunissa’s script to the actress.
According to a source, Kaif is keen on signing the film but has a few reservations. He said, “Katrina was apprehensive about looking old (age 62).
She also felt she’d have hardly any scenes with the two icons (Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor), and that most of her scenes would be with the younger actors who would play the younger avatars of Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor.
However, Nikhil feels she can pull it off.” In the film, Kaif will have to play Mehrunissa in two different time periods — at the age of 20 and again at the age of 62.
The source revealed that Kaif will now join Khan only in April to shoot for Dhoom 3, despite efforts being made to get the actress to shoot her solo scenes for Dhoom 3 earlier.
When contacted, a Yashraj Films spokesperson confirmed that the schedule of Dhoom 3 has been postponed by a month.
